Theresa Yvonne is the founding Executive Director for the Federal Way Performing Arts & Event Center, recruited through a national search. Ms. Yvonne arrived in the Pacific Northwest in March of 2015 with over 20 years’ experience in managing the arts, which includes 15 years’ experience specific to theatre.
Prior to arriving in Federal Way, for six years she served as Performing Arts Manager for the Lancaster Performing Arts Center located in the heart of downtown Lancaster, in the northern part of Los Angeles County, known as the Antelope Valley. The LPAC presented approximately 45 performances annually, hosted three resident companies, boasted a dedicated Arts Education program for the youth of the community and become a Kennedy Center Partners in Education under her tutelage.
In 2007, Ms. Yvonne re-opened the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts in Tracy, CA a vaudeville theatre originally built in 1923. The Grand is a 37,000 square foot interdisciplinary arts complex with two theatres, an exhibition gallery and an arts education center with nine instructional studios. She also served as staff liaison to the Arts Leadership Alliance, the non-profit fundraising partner and the Tracy Arts Commission which now includes a Public Art Program. She also worked for the City of Dublin, CA which has an extensive public art program and the City of Lodi, for the Arts Division operating two theatres, an arts education program and their public art program.
Ms. Yvonne holds a Bachelors Degree in Drama from C.S.U. Sacramento and a Masters Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and has over 20 years of theater, fundraising and operational experience and has served as Artistic Director for Riverfront Playhouse in Redding, Ca and volunteered for Business Volunteers for the Arts in Sacramento, Ca with non-profit board development.
